The catalyst comprises aluminum oxide, rhenium and cesium. An Independent claim is also included for the production of the catalyst comprising preparing a precursor of the catalyst based on psi -aluminum oxide and rhenium, and heat treating at more than 750 deg C in a non-reducing gas atmosphere.
