<p>A method for crushing a used lithium ion cell safely with high efficiency characterized by comprising a case crushing/separating step of separating a plastic case protecting a sealed cell body safely and reliably to the outside of the system, and separately recovering valuable substances such as lithium cobaltate which is a lithium-transition metal complex oxide, aluminum, and copper by repeatedly vibrating or pressing the cell cooled at -50 ~C or less by utilizing materials having a rigidity and a specific gravity both higher than those of plastic material of the plastic case so as to separate the cell into the sealed cell body and the plastic case, a heating separating step of heating the separated cell body at 200 ~C or more in a non-oxidizing atmosphere to separate mainly organic substances, and one or more separating steps of removing noise substances from the chips produced in the cell crushing step in order so as to obtain objective useful substances.</p> |
