Metering unit has rectangular cross-section component storage containers (10,11). The bases of the containers (10,11) house metering pumps (13,14) comprising a piston moving inside a cylinder (17,18). A cover (19) for each vessel carries a drive unit (21) for the metering pumps. All containers have the same dimensions and are mounted next to each other on a moveable support. Preferred Features: The metering piston cylinders (17,18) are located in a block in the base of the storage vessel (10,11) from which the sidewalls emerge.
