PURPOSE: An imaging apparatus is provided to have a wide dynamic range while reproducing an improved color at a low luminance. CONSTITUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises: an amplifier(107c) for amplifying analog image signal with a predetermined gain value; an A/D converter(109a) for converting the amplified analog image signal into a digital signal; a hue adjuster(111) for adjusting a he gain value from an output of the A/D converter; and a signal processor(113) for processing an output of the hue adjuster with a digital signal, wherein the hue adjuster comprises: a low pass filter for passing a low frequency component of the output for the A/D converter so as to output a luminance signal; a hue gain selector for dividing a level of the luminance signal into a plurality of regions to select a corresponding gain value among plural different gain values according to each region; and a clipper for outputting 0 when an output of a divider is less than a zero and for outputting a maximum value when the output of the divider is larger than the maximum value among the output of the A/D converter.
