The stator has a hub unit (46) with blades (52), each blade having different radial inner and outer flow profile sections. A first cover ring (48) is located in the radial transitional area between inner and outer sections. The ring surrounds the hub unit and is connected to the blades. A second cover ring (60) also connected to the blades is located in a radial outer end section of the blades. A first blade section (54) is formed between hub unit and first ring, to contain the inner flow profile section. A second blade section (56) is formed between the rings to contain the outer flow profile section.
