PURPOSE: A manual transmission of an automobile is provided to smoothly start or stop the automobile without any gear handling on traffic congestion so that improving the user's convenience. CONSTITUTION: A manual transmission comprises a detecting unit(20) installed at one sides of an acceleration pedal(2) and a brake pedal(3) and composing of a resistance detector detecting the resistance by the operation of the acceleration pedal and the brake pedal so that detecting the operation of the acceleration pedal and the brake pedal, a gearshift sensor(10) comprising a solenoid(50) variably moving a piston(55) by forming the magnetic force when the current is passed through a coil by the control of an ECU(Electronic Control Unit,30) and a driving cylinder(60) connected to be interlocked with the piston of the solenoid and putting a control pressure in a hydraulic cylinder(6) so that detecting that the gearshift is positioned at the prescribed transmission range, the ECU(30) controlling through an output stage after connecting the detecting unit and the gearshift sensor to an input stage and judging for control with the detected signal, and an operating unit(40) selectively putting the control pressure in the hydraulic cylinder controlling the operation of a clutch(7).
