<p>A blood pump includes a sterilizable blood pump unit (10) removably attached to a turbine drive unit (12). An impeller (30) within the blood pump moves the blood from the pump inlet to the pump outlet. The pump snaps onto the turbine drive unit and a magnetic coupling (34, 62) between the pump unit and the drive unit is used to transmit the rotation of a turbine shaft to the pump impeller.</p> |
