The servo seat has a pair of rails movable in relation to each other and of which both or one of them supports the seat. A drive mechanism(9) has a gearing(7) attached to the first rail(5a), a guide spindle(8a) extends from the gearing and with it meshes a nut(10) attached to the second rail(5b). A reinforcing element(13) is attached to the first rail at a point different from the position of the gearing and is in engagement with the spindle in an axially fixed manner.
