PURPOSE: A side wall composition for plasma display panel satisfying an optical, thermal and electrical demand characteristic and a manufacturing method the side wall is disclosed. CONSTITUTION: A side wall composition for plasma display panel uses SiO2-ZnO-PbO-B2O3 system glass. The SiO2-ZnO-PbO-B2O3 system glass is composed of 10 to 30 weight percent SiO2, 10 to 30 weight percent ZnO, 10 to 30 weight percent B2O3, 5 to 30 weight percent PbO, 2 to 10 weight percent K2O, 0 to5 weight percent Li2O, 1 to 5 weight percent CaO, 3 to 8 weight percent Na2O, 1 to 5 weight percent Al2O3, and 0 to 2 weight percent Sb2O3. A manufacturing method of the side wall comprises the steps of: forming a powder of amorphous glass; mixing the amorphous glass powder and an organic solvent and forming a paste; coating the paste on upper portion of substrate at predetermined thickness and sintering it at predetermined temperature; and forming the side wall on the sintered substrate. Thereby, a weight of the side wall is decreased by reducing a content of PbO component. |
