PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new solar battery lighting equipment which can accumulate and use the power generated by a solar battery efficiently. SOLUTION: In this solar battery lighting equipment, the power generated by a solar battery 1 is accumulated in an electrical double layer capacitor 3. Only when an object to be illuminated is detected, the solar battery lighting equipment lights up a lighting apparatus 4 using the accumulated power. In this case, the output voltage of the solar battery 1 is used to judge whether it is day time or night time. According to the judgement result, a control circuit 2 controls the actuation/stoppage of the operation of detection of an object to be illuminated.
