<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent any erroneous recording/reproducing operations without any variance in contact pressure between a recording/reproducing head and a tape recording medium by using a piezoelectric element to accurately detect the contact pressure therebetween. SOLUTION: A contact pressure detecting signal outputted from a piezoelectric element 7 is processed by a processor, this output signal is inputted to a torque controller, the torque of a take-up reel 6 is controlled according to the signal, and the tension of a magnetic tape 2 is adjusted to be within a specified setting range. The tension of the magnetic tape 2 is adjusted by controlling the torque of the take-up reel 6 according to the level of a contact pressure between a head cylinder 4 and the magnetic tape 2 wound thereon, when the tension is low, the tension is increased to prevent the reduction in the contact pressure between various magnetic heads and the magnetic tape, the generation of a defective video signal, audio signal or the like is prevented, and when the tension is excessively high, the tension is reduced to prevent the short life of the magnetic head.</p> |
