PURPOSE: An oil level regulation device and method are provided to properly regulate the oil level in a storage tank for storing the oil supplied to a mechanism system. CONSTITUTION: An oil level regulation device is installed with: an oil storage tank for storing the oil supplied to the mechanism system; and oil supply device for selectively performing the oiling and discharging of the oil in the oil storage tank; a temperature detection device for detecting the temperature of the oil in the oil storage tank; a data input device for inputting a proper level at a specific temperature for the oil in the oil storage tank; a control device(34) for selectively performing the oiling and discharging of the oil by the oil supply device to correspond to the proper level that the surface of the oil in the oil storage tank is compensated by a compensation device.
