<p>A bait dispenser for securing to a fishing rod comprises a container (1) having an openable lid (3) operable by a release mechanism comprising a swivellable catch (8) having a locking formation (11) cooperable with a latching arm (12) on the container (1), the swivellable catch (8) also incorporating an over centre lever mechanism (14) to swivel the catch (8) for opening the lid (3) by means of a pulling or pushing motion in which the locking formation (11) of the catch (8) becomes out of alignment with the latching arm (12) so that when the container (1) and lid (3) is in an inverted position the lid (3) can be opened by pulling or pushing of the fishing rod to thereby dispense bait contained within the container (1).</p> |
