An information processor having a small size and enabling input of information reliably in a simple operation. A number-of-pulses counting sensor unit (32) and a direction-of-rotation sensor unit (33) irradiate an optical pattern formed on the lower surface of a rotation bezel with infrared radiation, generate a pulse signal from the reflected light, and measure the amount and direction of rotation of the rotation bezel from the pulse signal. An origin detecting sensor unit (10) irradiates the optical pattern with visible light and generates a pulse signal from the reflected light. An area reflecting infrared radiation and absorbing visible light is provided at a place of the optical pattern. When the origin detecting sensor unit (10) detects the area, the value of the pulse signal outputted from the origin detecting sensor unit (10) is different from that of the number-of-pulses counting sensor unit (32), thus detecting the origin.
