PURPOSE: An automatic vehicle lamp turning off device when turning off power and a method thereof are provided to prevent the discharge of the vehicle battery by making the vehicle lamp to be automatically lighted off if the vehicle lamp such a head lamp or a tail lamp is lighted on when parking the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of: continuously judging the on/off state of the vehicle power on the basis of the power on/off state from the vehicle power part(11) by a control part(10); judging if the vehicle lamp is lighted on based on the on/off of the vehicle lamp from a vehicle lamp switching part(13) when the power is turned off; judging the time passing after driving an inner timer if the vehicle lamp is lighted on; and lighting off the vehicle lamp after certain time passes.
