An air bag system or, specifically, a gas generator including two or more combustion chambers, namely a gas generator for air bag formed by enclosing an ignition means operated by impact and a gas generating means generating combustion gas which is ignited by the ignition means and burned so as to expand an air bag in a housing having a gas exhaust port, characterized in that two combustion chambers which store a gas generating means are provided in the housing concentrically and adjacently to each other in the radial direction of the housing, a communicating hole enabling these combustion chambers to communicate with each other is also provided in the housing, wherein two ignitors are included, two different gas generating means are included, an ignitor having a lead wire is included, combustion chambers and igniting means are provided in an internal cylindrical member, and an automatic firing material is included, whereby occupants can be arrested effectively.
