This invention describes a fuel-activating device comprising a housing (12; 42) with a far infrared ray emitting body (11; 43) placed therein that provides for enhanced combustion of liquid fuels. The device can be installe d externally on the fuel line (32; 50) before the point where fuel flows into a carburetor or fuel injection system or within the fuel line (32; 50). The result is improved fuel burning efficiency, increased engine power, and reduced harmful emissions.
