<p>An IC card processing apparatus comprises an MPU (51) for controlling access to an IC (22) holding a card security code and card information, and a keyboard section (58A) for use to input a machine security code for collation with a card security code. When referring to card information, the MPU (51) retrieves the machine security code from a nonvolatile memory (59) and provides it for the IC card (22). The IC card (22) compares the input machine security code with the card security code stored in it. If the two security codes coincide with each other, the MPU (51) is allowed to have access to the IC card to read information and carry out some processing.</p> |
