PURPOSE: New high resistance thermosetting resin and preparation method thereof by reacting aromatic hydrocarbon with formamide followed by solution-polymerizing are provided which improve a defect in the cost of production and processing. CONSTITUTION: New high resistance thermosetting resin of formula(-£(ArCH2)n-ArR-(CH2OH)p|m-) is prepared by poly condensing aromatic hydrocarbon with formaldehyde in the presence of acid catalyst to give a polymer intermediate of formula((ArCH2)n) having a weight average molecular weight of 300-5,000, which is solution-polymerized in the presence of a cross link agent(R-Ar-(CH2OH)p), an acid catalyst and a polar organic solvent. In formula, Ar is an alkyl-substituted or non substituted ring, R is OH or CH3, p is 2-4, n is 2-10, m is 2-15.
