PURPOSE: A computer is provided to facilitate a user's interface by identifying a message received in the absence of a user as well as in the power-off of the computer. CONSTITUTION: A computer comprises: an automatic response setting part(202) for outputting an automatic response message when in a telephone call; a storage part(206) for storing a predetermined response reception message according to the automatic response message; an indication part(230) for indicating an existence of the response reception message in response to an indication signal; a telephone button for producing a response identification signal by a user's selection; a microcomputer(240) for generating the indication signal when the response reception message and detecting a response identification signal from the telephone button; and an automatic response processing part(204) for reading and informing of the response reception message stored in the storage part(206).
