PURPOSE: A separate hydrogel layer containing active charcoal is further provided over a usual hydrogel layer containing no charcoal to give a double hydrogel structure, so that aromatic particles heavier than air go down under the lower gel and the upper hydrogel layer more effectively adsorbs ill-smelling particles contained in the air. CONSTITUTION: The gel composition for hydrogel air freshener product comprises a gelling agent, a surfactant, an aromatic, and a salt. The composition contains 0.5 to 5 wt.% of fine activated charcoal dispersed in the upper layer being less than 50 percents with respect to the total volume of the hydrogel. The hydrogel is selected from the group consisting of garrageenan CG-800, gelatine and gellangum. The charcoal is dispersed in the upper layer being less than 50 percents with respect to the total volume of the hydrogel. The hydrogel composition(1) is covered with a protective cover(2) and pierces a vertical column(4) supported by a support(3).
