The stand has elements connected by hollow-strip traverses. The traverse (2) without a flange lies against an endface of the stand element (3). The traverse has recesses (9) in at least one strap (4) with a recess (6), projecting through a recess (5) in the stand element. A wedge (7) can be driven between the strap and the outer surface of the stand element.
