The device has a grip (1) on a carrier (2) which moves up and down the stack of discs and grasps the topmost disc. A ring-shaped actuator (3) with concentric actuating elements (31) is provided on the carrier for radially moving the grip. The grip has jaws (11) for grasping the disc by moving perpendicularly to its side surface. The jaws have a height which is less than or equal to the thickness of the CD.
