PURPOSE: A web contents transmission system and transmission control method are provided to eliminate the bottle neck state in web server and network in the transmission of web contents on world wide web(www). CONSTITUTION: The web contents transmission system serving web documents stored in web server to each of the clients comprises a client(102), a client domain name server(104), an intelligent domain name server(106), web cache clusters(110/1, 110/2) and a web server(112). The client domain name server(104) determines the intelligent DNS(106) in charger of the domain name interpretation for specific web server. The intelligent DNS(106) selects the nearest web cache cluster to the service request client among a plurality of web cache clusters installed at each network. The client(102) and the web cache clusters(110/1, 110/2), and the web cache clusters and the web server(112) are mutually connected through internet network(108).
