Novel coated paper for printing which is free from wrinkles during rotary offset printing, including a coating layer containing a pigment and an adhesive as principal components and disposed on raw paper wherein dry shrinkage force R measured by the following method satisfies the relation 0 </= R </= 35 gf. The R value is obtained by cutting the sample of coated paper wetted in accordance with JIS P8111 into a predetermined size in a CD direction, setting the cut sample to a thermomechanical analyzer and measuring it in a predetermined sequence. A method of producing this coated paper is also described. Specifically, coated paper for printing obtained easily by using raw paper obtained by applying at least 0.5 to 3 g/m<2> per surface of base paper in dry weight of PVA having a saponification value of at least 85 mol % to the base paper and drying it; and a method of producing the same. |
