A watch equipped with a liquid crystal display panel for displaying at least either time information or calendar information. A liquid crystal is sealed in a space between two transparent substrates having electrodes on the opposed inner surfaces thereof, and polarizers are provided on the outer sides of the substrates, while a light-absorbing plate is disposed on one polarizer on the side opposite to a liquid crystal cell. The polarizers reflect a linearly polarized light having a plane of vibration perpendicular to the axis of each transmission. Either the background or the display segment shows a metallic color and the other shows the colour of the light-absorbing plate, exhibiting a varied design. <IMAGE>
