Burner for heating a pulverulent solid put into a foam having a low calorific value in the form of a mixture of a three-phase solid, water and a surfactant includes an internal channel emerging into a combustion chamber, and a fluid input pipe held in the channel and away from the channel wall to define an annular passage for combustion supporter flow towards the opening. The fluid input pipe (3) has a central foam atomization conduit having inlets (321, 322) for the foam and the atomization fluid, respectively. The circulating foam is accelerated and atomized by the atomization fluid into solid particles conveyed in the flow of the atomization fluid forming a mist up to the opening, and an annular conduit (33) for circulating a combustion supporter and extending between the central conduit (32) and the sheath (31) . The central conduit (32) and the annular conduit (33) have end regions towards the opening for discharge of the mist and the combustion supporter, respectively. The end region walls (323, 332) extend into each other. At least the internal wall (3230 is convergent. An Independent claim is given for a method of vitrification of a pulverulent product.
