Tool holder with coolant pipe

The tool holder has a hollow tapering shank with top opening for clamping in a chuck. The pipe (21) delivering coolant to the tool is inside the shank and has an inlet (23) towards the top opening, also a top portion (28) with cylindrical outer surface (31), against which a sealing ring in a feed pipe bears. A cover (35) at the inlet (23) prevents swarf penetrating inside the pipe. There can be a further portion (29) of smaller external diameter below the top one and on which the sealing ring fits during the connecting operation, this bearing against the top position on clamping in place. The cover can consist of a strainer, bearing against a shoulder (34) in the pipe. A toothed ring can be used to clamp the strainer in place.
