PURPOSE: A method is to judge what data service an external data processing apparatus performs when connecting the external data processing apparatus and is to establish data transmission rate according to the above. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises: the first process of checking the data cable connection state; the second process of establishing data transmission rate of data service to a data transmission rate supporting the corresponding kind of data cable, if the data cable is checked to be connected; and the third process of performing data service at the above established data transmission rate according to the data service mode entry. The cellular terminal comprises a central processing unit, external data processing units, a program memory, a data memory, a nonvolatile memory and a key pad. The communication part of the cellular terminal comprises a radio frequency interface part, a frequency conversion part, a modulation/demodulation part and a signal processing part.
