PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of machine tool which has a chip conveyer automatic stopping function with a high reliability in a simple structure, as well as with a energy saving effect. SOLUTION: This control device 10 of machine tool is provided with a timer 16 for chip conveyer to count the time after the program finishing of an NC program; a chip conveyer automatic stopping time setting memory 19a to memorize the automatic stopping time until the chip conveyer is stopped automatically after the program finishing of the NC program; and a chip conveyor control means to stop the chip conveyor after the automatic stopping time passes, when the chip conveyer is in the operation condition at the program finishing time of the NC program; are provided in a machine tool having a chip conveyer to exhaust the chips generated in the machining area of the machine tool by the machine to the outer side of the machining area of the machine tool, as well as to machine a work depending on the NC program.
