PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject modifier consisting of an epoxidized polyisoprene and capable of giving inexpensive biodegradable material compositions improved in molding processability, extensibility and brittleness. SOLUTION: This modifier is such one as to consist of an epoxidized polyisoprene(pref. epoxidized cis-1,4-polyisoprene 5-75 mol% in epoxidation degree) which is obtained, preferably by epoxidation of the C=C double bonds of natural rubber or a polyisoprene containing >=90% of cis-1,4-bond which is produced by polymerization of isoprene.
