FORMED AIR FILTER AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the manufacturing process and the structure of an air filter and to lower the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This air filter is constituted of a plate part 3 formed by rolling a strip-like fiber layer 2 and a corrugated part 4. The plate part 3 is formed to be a flat surface and the corrugated part 4 has vertical grooves formed along the longitudinal direction of a strip-like filter material 2A and margins 7, 8 for an adhesive for bonding the plate part 3 and the corrugated part 4 as to form a bag-like form from these parts are kept in both ends of the plate part 3 and the corrugated part 4. The opened part of the layered plate part and corrugated part 4 is fixed by a fixing member to give an integrated structure. The method for manufacturing the filter comprises a roll forming process for forming the plate part 3 and the corrugated part 4 by a cylindrical roll 5, a folding back process for folding back and sticking the plate part 3 and the corrugated part 4 into a bag-like form, a fixing process for fixing end parts of both sides of the layered plate part 3 and corrugated part 4 to give a bag-like body, and an integrating process for giving a united structure by fixing plate parts 3 and corrugated parts 4 layered and formed into bag-like bodies by such a manner.
