The elevator equipment system has a lift system (1) with one or more lifts, a controller (17), a service center (16) for monitoring the operation of the system arranged separately from the lift system and a data communications arrangement (19,23,15) for exchanging lift-related data between the lift system and the service center. First (19) and second (15) communications devices in the service center and lift system are connected together via a data path, pref. a telephone network. The controller is arranged in the service center and control data are exchanged between the controller and lift system via data communications devices. An Independent claim is also included for a method of controlling a lift system. |
