摘要 |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce spherical silica particles having high mechanical strength, large specific surface area and good fluidity and also to provide a production method by which such spherical silica particles can be produced with good reproducibility. SOLUTION: The silica spherical particles contg. aluminum and magnesium have: a 60 to 500 m2/g specific surface area; a 0.1 to 0.5 cm3/g pore volume, wherein the total volume of pores having pore diameters within the range of 10 to 500Åis >=90% of the total volume of all the pores; a 0.6 to 1.3 g/cm3 bulk density; <=2.0 wt.%/15 hr of wear resistance; a 0.5 to 300μm average particle size; 5 to 40 wt.% aluminum content expressed in terms of aluminum oxide; and 3 to 30 wt.% magnesium content expressed in terms of magnesium oxide. |
