PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shield a malodor from the drain pipe of a sink cabinet, a washing/ dressing table or a bathtub by inserting a net cage with a cover into the inlet of a drain port, and filling the fine grains of activated carbon into the cage. SOLUTION: A net cage with a cover is manufactured according to the size of a drain port and is inserted into the drain port. An upper net 5 serves as a cover, and it can be opened or closed when it is slid. Activated carbon 6 is put in a lower net cage 4, and the cage 4 is inserted into the inlet of the drain port. When food garbage is accumulated on the net, the cage 4 is removed to discard the garbage. A malodor coming up from below is cut off and adsorbed by the activated carbon 6 in the cage 4 not only when no water flows down but also at the time of drainage, thus the intrusion of the malodor into a room can be prevented. The slime in a drain pipe and on a dripping cage is reduced by the action of the activated carbon 6. When the effect of the activated carbon 6 is remarkably lowered, the upper net 5 of this apparatus is slid, and the content is replaced.
