PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply measure cloth tension even by an unskilled person by providing a tension detecting terminal detecting tension of cloth, and at least three cloth surface detecting terminals arranged on the circumference of the tension detecting terminal and capable of detecting cloth tension. SOLUTION: A tension detecting terminal 1 is provided so as to be pressed against the surface of cloth, and connected to a load cell for measuring repulsion at pressing. Surface detecting terminals 2 of cloth are arranged at least three pieces on the circumference of the tension detecting terminal 1, similarly so as to be pressed against the cloth, and load cells are used as displacement sensors for detecting repulsion at that time. When cloth tension is measured, at first the tension detecting terminal 1 touches with the surface of cloth, and measures so as to press the extreme end parts of the surface detecting terminals 2 against the surface of cloth. The cloth tension when displacement quantities due to all the surface detecting terminals 2 are within a fixed range, is detected through the tension detecting terminal 1.
