<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a water vapor-permeable waterproof fabric excellent in touch feeling and adhesion without generating toxic gases at the time of combustion and useful for raincoats, etc., by forming a coating layer on the surface of a fabric with a specific ethylene formal solution and then removing the ethylene formal. SOLUTION: A coating layer (having preferably 5-50μm thickness) is formed on the surface of a fabric by using an ethylene formal solution prepared by dissolving a polyester-based elastomer in which a hard segment is terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid or an ester-forming derivative thereof or 2,6- naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and a soft segment is a polyether in ethylene formal, which is then removed by a dry method or a wet method to produce a water vapor-permeable waterproof fabric. A hydrophilic agent such as sodium sulfonate or a compound having amino acid, etc., at the terminal is preferably added in an amount of <=30 wt.% based on the solution of the polyester-based elastomer in the ethylene formal to the solution.</p> |
