A planet carrier comprises an annular member 21 having outwardly radially extending spokes 22 which support straps 24 carrying planet wheels 14. A portion of each spoke constitutes a U-shaped member oriented with its legs 40, 82 generally parallel to the axis of the planet carrier. The annular member 21 has a splined connection with an output shaft 26. Lubricating oil is directed through apertures 60 in the spokes 22 so that it impinges on the teeth of the planet gears and is directed towards the sun gear. |
