PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feed cassette of a type to turn a bottom plate to lift stacked recording papers capable of preventing a tip of the recording paper during the turn from being pressed against a stopper or a butting member, keeping balance feeding and separation of papers and the recording papers stably feeding without duplication feed. SOLUTION: This paper feed cassette is provided with a tip spring 4 deformable forward with the elastic pressure Ps and butting forward ends of recording papers in an arranged manner, and an end fence 5 to hold rear ends of the recording papers with the elastic pressure Pe, where Ps>Pe. When the forward end of the recording paper is projected forward by the distance Rm-M=Rq by the turn of a bottom plate 2, the tip spring 4 is deformed by the pressure, and absorbs the pressure together with the spring of the end fence 5 to press the rear end of the recording paper.
