PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a club head from being bitten into the lawn, earth or sand on this side of a ball more deeply than it is required and ensure an expected flying distance by providing a claw between the club face and sole of the golf club. SOLUTION: A claw 5 is formed between the club face 3 and sole 8 of a club head 1 integrally with the club head 1. The boundary 6 between the club face 3 and the claw 5 has a creased form, but it may be gently formed without crease. The claw 5 may be regarded as the extension of the club face 3 to provide a groove in the boundary 6 between the club face 3 and the claw 5 or on the surface of the claw 5. When the claw 5 is provided between the club face 3 and the sole 8 in this way, the club head 1 can be prevented from being bitten into the lawn, earth or sand more deeply than it is required, and the resistance of the lawn, earth or sand can be reduced. Accordingly, since the momentum of the golf club is properly transmitted to a ball, an expected flying distance can be ensured.
|
