PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a treating agent for highly water-absorbing resins for jelly type bathing agents, capable of efficiently dehydrating highly water-absorbing resin for jelly type bathing agents which absorbed water and discharging the resin without clogging sewers, not causing re-swelling even when highly water- absorbing resin after discharging is brought into contact with water content having low ion concentration. SOLUTION: This treating agent for highly water-absorbing resins comprises a divalent metal salt or its hydrate. The method for treating the highly water- absorbing resin comprises adding the treating agent for highly water-absorbing resins to the highly water-absorbing resin which absorbed water and dehydrating the highly water-absorbing resin. The divalent metal salt is one or more kinds of compounds selected from a group comprising magnesium chloride, magnesium acetate, magnesium nitrate, calcium hydroxide, calcium nitrate, calcium chloride and calcium acetate.
