PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device for internal combustion engine which makes a high-frequency sound generated from a surge tank inaudible, without reducing the intake efficiency. SOLUTION: The intake device 2 of an engine is provided with an air cleaner 3, a throttle body 4, a surge tank 5, and an intake manifold 6. A mask duct 9 is formed on the outer wall of the surge tank 5 which is provided at the downstream side of the throttle body 4. The mask duct 9 has an opening 9a, and it makes the air taken in from the opening 9a flow in to the air cleaner 3 at the upstream side upper than the throttle body 4 through a connection duct 10. A low-frequency sound is generated in the mask duct 9, and a high-frequency sound generated from the surge tank 5 in a sudden opening time of a throttle valve is made inaudible.
