PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical knitted fabric by bundling specific mole % or above of glycolate-bonded copolymer filaments to yarn, knitting this yarn to a knitted fabric shape of a stretchable form and not heat setting this knitted fabric. SOLUTION: The filaments are produced from the copolymer having >=50 mol% of the glycolate bonds. The filaments are formed to the shape of the yarn by bundling or twisting the same. This yarn is knitted to the form of a net. One kind of the fabric is a stretchable knitted net. The net may be produced by a tricot machine of 14 gages or 28-gage raschel warp net making machine using a 2-bar structure. The net is not heat set in spite of use of either of these machines. The usefulness of the fabric is mainly in a restoration field of the organs and more specifically the fabric is most advantageous in the restoration of the soft organs, for example, the spleen, the liver or the kidney. The fabric is also useful in the restoration of the pancreas and finally, the fabric is used in the applications including the organ hanging bandage during the internal fusion of the organs and further a shrinkable hanging bandage.
