PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain ferritic stainless steel free from a slow leak phenomenon, good in workability and suitable for the sealing of glass such as a suport stud pin. SOLUTION: This steel is the one contg. 0.03 to 0.08% C, 0.05 to 1.0% Si, 0.10 to 0.80% Mn, <=0.005% S, 16 to 25% Cr, <=0.02% N, 0.15 to 0.60% Ti and 0.01 to 0.30% Al, in which the average crystal grain size after finish annealing is >=35μm. It is produced by executing process annealing at 800 to 1,000 deg.C and thereafter executing finish rolling at a draft of 2 to 15%.
