PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce porous bodies having open pores by adding fixed carbon to a blend of clinker ash and a clay mineral, molding them and burning the fixed carbon in the resultant moldings to thermally harden the moldings. SOLUTION: Fixed carbon such as coke or coal powder or a carbide obtained by carbonizing combustible waste or combustible material-containing waste mud with a rotary kiln is added by 3-10 wt.% to a blend of 40-80 wt.% clinker ash which is a solid component in coal ash discharged from a coal-burning thermoelectric power station, or the like, and 20-60 wt.% clay mineral such as clayey waste discharged from various industries. They are molded and the resultant moldings are thermally hardened in such a way that 2-100 mm size and >=10% water absorption are attained by burning the fixed carbon in the moldings to obtain the objective porous ceramic lumps having open pores. When microorganisms having water purifying function are implanted in the open pores in the ceramic lumps, water is continuously purified.
|
