<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform accurate control in various current control of an electric motor in a motor-driven braking device for a vehicle. SOLUTION: This braking device is provided with a pad disposed opposedly to a disc rotated integrally with a wheel, and an electric motor for pressing the pad to the disc through a driving member to apply braking force to the wheel. In the stop state of the electric motor, the driving current of the electric motor is gradually increased (step 222). In the gradually increased state of the driving current, the driving current at the time of the electric motor starting its rotating action is determined as the minimum driving current of the electric motor (step 214-220, 224). Even with the change of environment in which the braking device is placed, the minimum driving current corresponding to the environment is detected, and the electric motor is current-controlled using the minimum driving current, so that the current control can be performed always accurately.</p> |
