PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency in removing the dust depositing on a material to be coated in a coating booth used in the intermediate coating or overcoating of the automobile body and its parts by providing a humidifying zone before a coating zone. SOLUTION: A floor conveyor is laid on the floor of a coating booth 1, and an automobile body B to be coated is loaded on a coating truck B1 and transported in the booth 1. A humidifying zone 1A, a dust removing zone 1B, a coating zone 1C, a backup zone and a setting zone are successively set in the booth 1 from its inlet side. A humidifier 11 is furnished in the humidifying zone 1A to maintain the inside in a specified high-humidity environment, and a solenoid valve 13 is controlled by a controller 15 to keep the humidity detected by a sensor 14 within a reference humidity range. Besides, a wiping device 16 and an air blowing device 17 are furnished in the dust removing zone 1B to remove the dust depositing on the body B.
