PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite material in which the functional groups of a low-molecular compound are oriented in a specified direction by mixing an alkyl-containing low-molecular compound having a specified or higher degree of crystal orientation at the minimum angle X-ray diffraction point with a flexible polymer compound. SOLUTION: This composite material comprises 5-95 wt.% low-molecular compound having a 12C or higher linear alkyl and a flexible polymer compound which forms a crystal composed of folded polymer chains when its melt or solution is coagulated. This material has a 85% or larger crystal orientation degree at the minimum angle X-ray diffraction point as calculated from the equation: crystal orientation degree (%)=(180-β)/180 (βis the half-width). This material is molded into a tape, a film or a fiber, and the molding is uniaxially oriented to orient molecules of the low-molecular compound in a specified direction with respect to the direction of orientation. The alkyl-containing low- molecular compound is exemplified by aminonitropyridine, nitroaniline methylmethoxynitrostilbene, or a derivative thereof. The flexible polymer is exemplified by a polyolefin, or an aliphatic nylon.
