PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe plant disease preventing composition effective for promoting the generation of phytoalexin which is an antibacterial substance existing in plant and increasing the natural blight resistance of plant, harmless to the environment and producible at a low cost and provide a process for the use of the composition. SOLUTION: The preventing composition contains a mixture of D-glucose and at least one kind of sulfur-containing amino acid selected from methionine, cysteine and cystine. The preventing composition is applied e.g. by spraying to the above-ground part of a plant as it is or after diluting 1-100,000 times with water or directly mixing into the soil or injecting into the soil after diluting 1-1,000,000 times with water.
