PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject etching agent capable of providing an etching finished product having a sharp transparent pattern or a sharp uneven pattern and excellent in brightness and designability without using an etching agent having dangerousness such as an amine or an alkali metal hydroxide by including guanidine carbonate. SOLUTION: This etching agent contains guanidine carbonate in an amount of preferably 1-40 wt.% in a printing paste and further preferably a polyethylene glycol having 200-5,000 molecular weight in an amount of 3-15 wt.% in the printing paste. The etching finishing of a natural textile material comprising natural polyamide fibers or composite fibers thereof with other fibers is preferably carried out by using the etching agent containing the guanidine carbonate and the polyethylene glycol. The natural textile material is preferably printed with the printing paste containing the guanidine carbonate, etc., and dry heat or wet heat treatment is then preferably conducted. |
